The Violet Foundation aims to raise awareness of meningococcal disease and help those who have been affected by it. With its prevalence increasing, meningococcal disease has now touched the lives of many Australians and those wishing to show their support can do so by attending the Violet Foundation’s charity dinner on Saturday the 8th of August.

To be held at Cockle Bay’s Dockside, the event will feature dinner, drinks and one of Sydney’s premier party bands playing a selection of dance floor favourites. Guests will also be entertained by a comedian and can try their luck in the raffle. A great selection of items will also be up for the bidding, with both silent and live auctions to be held.

The money raised will go a long way to making the dreams of meningococcal survivors come true. Last year the Violet Foundation was able to purchase specialised prosthetic legs for a young man who is now working his way towards becoming a professional personal trainer in health and fitness. This year the Violet Foundation has stretched their funds to purchase a horse for a young girl who showed remarkable skill at the Riding for the Disabled program. With her beloved new companion she is now enjoying partaking in regular competitions and hopes to become an equestrian Para Olympian in the future.

Tickets for the Violet Foundation Awareness Dinner are available for $130 per head. To reserve your space contact Colin Greenway on 0418 960 823 or 02 9825 6521. To find out more about meningococcal disease and the work of the Violet Foundation visit www.violetfoundation.org.au.
